Over the Weekend..

Can I just rewind back to Friday and do this whole weekend over again? The only thing I would change is that I maybe would have gotten a little more sleep and a little less of a cold.

On Friday, we headed to the local biker bar (for real), Shuckers, for the best fried shrimp basket around and a few beers with some great friends!

Saturday, I was entirely too productive. Before lunch, I had gotten my "hur did," made a trip to Sonic for my first coke in what seemed like ages, been to the gym, picked out new running shoes, bought Kendol's Valentine's present and taken a ring I got for Christmas back to the jewelry store to be re-sized... again! All done in the absolute pouring down rain!!

Then it was off to Mudbugs for our first crawfish of the season and some Bulldog basketball. Seriously, this is one of my favorite days of the year! We spend probably a little too much time and money at Mudbugs, but I love it!

YUM!!!
After a Bulldog/SEC victory over Auburn, we had a little "cook in" at our house! I say "cook in" bc it literally rained for hours and hours and hours, so there was no grilling involved. Us girls had a little too much fun. It was literally like a 7th grade dance. All of the boys were watching something ridiculous on tv and all the girls were chuggin' sipping wine around the kitchen table! Needless to say, a few corks were added to the collection.

Moving right along to the Superbowl. I am not a huge fan of either team that was playing, but I am a Manning fan, so I was rooting a little harder for Eli than Tom... Not only does Eli have Mississippi roots, but he is also a huge contributor to our one and only children's hospital, Blair E. Batson. Maybe that's why I'm a fan?? And on top of that, he has always been the underdog and always lived in Peyton's shadow.... Not anymore. Who's the brother with 2 superbowl wins?? Eli!!

Actually I wasn't rooting for Tom at all. I don't know what it is about it him, but he just rubs me the wrong way. I'm just not a fan. Maybe it was the stringy mullet he rocked for a few years... I do not know.

The Gals watching the game!

Boys will be Boys..
Still fighting over the man chair.
Still not sure who won.

Moving right along to halftime. I seriously may like Madonna less than I do Tom Brady. I'll give her props for being in her 50's and still rockin' it out, but I was just a little disappointed in the Super Bowl picking her to perform. There are just so many other options!

But to be fair, nothing stands a chance for me after the Aerosmith, N'SYNC, Britney, Nelly and Mary J. halftime... Nothing......

But I have to say it was better than expected and better than many of the past years that I've witnessed. She lip synched, which in my opinion was a great option. At least she sounded good compared to performers from other years and she sang "Like A Prayer" which is my favorite of her songs! It took me back to Tri Delta rush week theme night. Ahhh the memories!!

Now how funny were all of the tweets about the halftime show?? I seriously don't know if I've ever laughed so hard. The funniest were about the tight rope guy... Hysterical!

My favorite moment of the night?? Blake and Miranda singing America the Beautiful, while holding hands. They are my favorites. Always have been. Always will be. And let's not forget Kelly, who killed it on the National Anthem and is looking awesome!!

I mean, could they be any cuter?

  7. I didn't watch the Superbowl, but I have to agree about Tom Brady. He seems nice enough, but he just rubs me wrong too. Probably just because he beat my team pretty badly this year! :-)
