Get Down & Break a Sweat

How is everyone coming along with your goals/resolutions for the year?? I am quite surprised with myself for being so dedicated to mine this year. Very out of character for me, but I sure do feel better about myself.

At the beginning of the year, I made it my goal to try and make an effort to eat healthy at least one meal a day and to get back into my running and regular exercise. After a month of recording my actions in my Erin Condren planner, I started using MyFitnessPal to keep track of calories. Ladies (and gentlemen??)... this works!! For real. And it is really not that hard. Seriously.

I have found that it just makes me conscious of what I'm eating and makes me really think about what goes in my mouth. It becomes a game of sorts to be below your calorie goal at the end of the day. I have now been doing it almost 40 days and exercising 4-ish days a week and have seen major results. I usually gain weight when I work out regularly(probably bc I ate more), but not this time. I am by no means trying to lose major weight, just trying to get in great shape and it's working. I highly recommend using this app on your phone/computer. I get so excited to see myself and all of my friends on the app be successful! It is so great.

If you don't use the app, it is still a great idea to try and write down what you are eating. I am also still writing down my exercise and my "healthy" meal for the day in my planner. This is all a mind game. If I don't have anything to write/enter in the calorie counter, I get mad at myself, which is an awesome motivator.

I have even gotten some new running shoes, and am about to participate in my second 5K of the year, with the Warrior Dash coming up soon after that.

I know this is a boring post, but I just wanted to document my progress and hopefully encourage someone out there to try it!

Need a Little Motivation... No problem. The girls of "Hot Sundae" are here to help!!!

1, 2, 3, Bend!
