God Bless the U.S.A

I will never forget where I was and what I was doing when I heard the news. I was in Mrs. Nix's 2nd period history class, as a junior in highschool. I was sitting right next to my friend Mary Kathryn, who happens to be sitting right next to me as I type.

I just want to say thank you to all of the brave men and women who put their lives on the line that day and to all of the men and women who continue to put their lives on the line for our safety and  freedom every single day.... firemen, policemen and everyone who seflessly serves this country in the military. YOU ARE ALL AWESOME  and make me so proud to be an American and live in such a great country... The BEST country. And last, but certainly not least, most thanks to God for getting our country and all of the families effected that day through this whole tragedy. I hope that everyone sends up a few extra prayers for our country and all of these families today and everyday!

I think Lee Greenwood says it best, so I'll just let him take it from here.

If tomorrow all the things were gone,
I'd worked for all my life.
And I had to start again,
with just my children and my wife.

I'd thank my lucky stars,
to be livin here today.
‘Cause the flag still stands for freedom,
and they can't take that away.

And I'm proud to be an American,
where at least I know I'm free.
And I wont forget the men who died,
who gave that right to me.

And I gladly stand up,
next to you and defend her still today.
‘Cause there ain't no doubt I love this land,
God bless the USA.

From the lakes of Minnesota,
to the hills of Tennessee.
Across the plains of Texas,
From sea to shining sea.

From Detroit down to Houston,
and New York to L.A.
Well there's pride in every American heart,
and its time we stand and say.

That I'm proud to be an American,
where at least I know I'm free.
And I wont forget the men who died,
who gave that right to me.

And I gladly stand up,
next to you and defend her still today.
‘Cause there ain't no doubt I love this land,
GOD BLESS THE USA.
