Over the Weekend

Excuse me while I use a frat word real quick.... This weekend was a complete "Wig Fest"!! Literally. I went to Memphis for a bachelorette party for my sweet friend Tiffany. She is marrying my very best guy friend from home. (and they are about to move right down the street YAY!!!!) We.had.a.freakin.blast!!!! So much fun.

We started our 1 hour and 45 minute road trip at 10 a.m. We got to Memphis at 2...Whoopsy ha! Not sure exactly what took us so long. We did make a pitstop at Goodwill in Southaven to scope out some ideas for our "Trash Bash" celebration this coming Saturday!!

Once we were in Memphis, we headed to The Flying Saucer for some mid-afternoon appetizers since we somehow missed lunch. Then we headed back to the hotel for the lingerie party!! Then it was on to Beale Street for some crazy shenanigans!! After a "bucket" at Silkys and hours of booty shakin' at Alfreds, we ended the night at Denny's, of course!!! We had to get some late night food, since we managed to skip supper, as well!! Whoopsy!!

A blast was had by all, but my camera went dead before the shenanigans really got started. So here are a few pics!!

Pardon the weirdo on the far right.
Apparently I'm not very good at getting back before the ole self timer goes off!

Super sketch... we got outta there asap!
And no that's not a creeper guy... actually it's our friend Dave!!
Him and Karlee were there celebrating their 1st anniversary!
This coming weekend, instead of having a traditional engagement/wedding party, we will be having a "White Trash Bash Celebration" since it's Halloween and they love a costume party!! Can't wait to be back with all of these ladies for round two.

Just hoping next Sunday treats everyone a little better than this Sunday did ha! We were all aboard the struggle bus. But when I finally got home at 5:15, I had a quick power nap, a glorious bath, giant glass (es) of water, some pizza hut cheesesticks and spent the rest of the night in my MS State snuggie watching the Saints dominate the Colts and I was back to 100%.

FAB FILL IN THE BLANK FRIDAY

Pardon me while I have a mild case of "verbal vom" bc everything I'm about to say and do is totally unrelated.

Play along HERE!

Well Hello There "Fill In The Blank Friday" it's been a minute. Please forgive me for abandoning you lately. I promise I won't let it happen again.

1. Nothing says fall like
football, the leaves start to change colors and the Christmas decorations being put out in stores, completely ripping Halloween and Thanksgiving of their glory.

2. My favorite autumnal tradition is
Stephanie and Wally's Thanksgiving Feast. I believe this might be the 4th year. WOW!! Tons of people are invited and everyone brings a dish, so the food is OUT OF CONTROL. And everyone brings cans to donate to the food drive!! Food, Friends, Fun and for a great cause... Can't beat it!!

3. My favorite fall treat is
a hot chocolate with caramel from Cups!! Just had my first one yesterday morning... When I woke up and it was 36 degrees... I was just getting a sunburn in shorts on Saturday at the game??? and S'mores, of course.

4. Fall makes me think of
football, Halloween, Thanksgiving, fantastic food and that Christmas is right around the corner :)

5. Autumn free form word association, go!
hayes' birthday, leaves changing, boots, family, scarves, pumpkins, halloween, thanksgiving, bonfires, s'mores, turkey, sweatshirts, Uggs, football, candy, pecan pie, cowboy boots...
I could go on and on and on!

6. My go-to outfit in the fall is
skinny jeans, boots, sweater and a scarf!

7. My favorite fall holiday is (Halloween or Thanksgiving)
Thanksgiving, for sure!! Don't get me wrong, there is not much in the world that I love more than a costume party, especially the biggest one of the year, but I just think Thanksgiving food might just be one of them. I love to see different family and catch up and eat myself silly!

Now Moving on to FAB Friday!!

This Friday is FAB bc
 1. I am going home to spend the night with my Momma and Daddy tonight!!

2. I had Five Guys for lunch... Can we just take a minute to discuss the outrageous amounts of french fries they give you?? Seriously, it's crazy, but fantastic. I could never EVER even think about eating them all, but I love that they are not the least bit stingy ha.

3. On my way back from lunch I heard "Dazzey Duks" aka "Daisy Dukes." I proceeded to turn up my radio as loud as it would go and busted a move in lunch traffic... no shame!! Anywho, please tell me there is someone, ANYONE out there who attened the MDCC Jazz Classic back in the 90's where a dance troop danced to this song, then each individual did their own dance to it. I bet we heard this song 50 times in a row. I will never forget it as long as I live. The words will forever be embedded in my brain. Thanks gals!

4. I am currently sporting my first ever Maxi Skirt... and it's like a little slice of heaven. Seriously. I feel like I'm in my p.j.'s and it's glorious. Who cares if it makes my hips look even wider than they already are? I'm officially on the bandwagon!

5. I'm just a little excited about THIS!!  Someone please tell me if you've ever participated in a "Warrior Dash." We are thinking t shirts will most definitely have to be made for the occassion.

6. I will be headed to Memphis tomorrow for this pretty lady's bachelorette party!! Watch out Beale.
Seriously, can they get any cuter?
While we are in Memphis, Colby is celebrating his bach party at Talladega!! OOC

Hope you have a fantastic weekend lovelies!!!
I will leave you with this:
YOU ARE WELCOME :)

Terrible Tues

Today has been a day from H-E-DOUBLE-HOCKEY-STICKS!!

Ever have one of those days where your just "over it" all??? Well I never gave this day a chance. I was over it before it even had a chance to get started. I should've just stayed in bed (like I wanted to) for the sake of everyone around me. I have been far from pleasant... but I think that's ok... I have the right to be unpleasant every once in while, right??

There have been a few things that have made me smile today, though.

Check it:

At lunch, I had to get the h-e-l-l outta dodge, so I went for some retail therapy next to the nearest Sonic. Let's face it, some retail therapy and a Sonic Coke can fix just about anything... well for me anyways!! I'm pretty easy to please. And since I was in the area (bc Sonic is nowhere near my work ha), I decided to get some Baked Ziti from Franco's while I was in the "area" as well. Yes, I got food one place and then went to Sonic for a drink... Don't judge!!

I did have some luck on the retail therapy... and some bargain luck at that! Old Navy was having 50% off sweaters. They aren't to die for or anything, but a good sweater for $15... I'll take it any day of the week!

Then when I returned to work, I made a Grace Potter station on my pandora. Why have I not done this before??? Silly me... I guess I'm too pre-occupied in my Christmas, Johnny Cash and Nelly stations to think about making new ones ha!

Anywho, the day hasn't gotten much better, but these things did help a little!!

Ta Ta for now, I'm off to free dinner at Chick-fil-A courtesy of the Rankin County School District!! My friend Krista got teacher of the month (her first month to ever teach.... go girl) and you get a free meal for the fam at Chick-Fil-A... since Cody (her hubs) has class on Tuesday nights, she asked me to go!! Sweet friend.

Over the Weekend

O what a great weekend!! Besides our heartbreaking loss to South Carolina, it was perfect. We should have won that game. We won the whole time down to the last few minutes. It's a sad sad time to be a Mississippi State fan. We had a great team last year, so expectations for this year were high. We hold our own against all of the other crazy good SEC teams, we just can't pull out the W. But our boys play hard and they give it everything they have and that's all we can ask for.

On Friday, I took off of work at lunch to prepare for the weekend ahead. I scurried around town trying to get everything ready. The liquor store for bloody mary's and mimosas. Apple Annie's for some fun tailgating cups. The grocery store to get stuff to make brownies and puppy chow. To Party City for some MS State napkins. Sonic for lunch, then finally home to actually cook and get everything ready.

When we got to Starkville, we went strait to Kendol's little brother's house in the Cotton District. O this took me back a few years. While we don't miss a game, we hardly ever spend the night just because it can get so expensive. But this weekend, a lot of my best friends from college were going to be there, so we stayed. Not for one night, but for both! So on Friday night, we sat on Matt's balcony in the Cotton District and  had a few beers, before heading off to West Point to meet all of my friends for dinner at Anthony's. Somehow, during my 4 years of college, I never went to Anthony's to eat. What.Was.I.Thinking!! Delish!!! We called it a night early so that we could get up early for tailgating since the game was at 11:20. We fell asleep to the sounds of a Widespread Panic cover band literally 20 feet outside the window!! O, the college life!! Ha. I have to admit, while I'm not the biggest WSP fan, if Little Lilly or Tallboy had come on, I would have been up off that air mattress and dancing by myself on the balcony....)

On Satruday, we arrived at the "Junction" (MS State's Tailgating Area) at 8:40 a.m. and we left at about 6:30 p.m. I'd say we did some solid tailgating. Then we headed to Buffalo Wild Wings to catch the Auburn game and then on to Ricks for some dancing!! Dollar night and a little booty shaking is good for the soul!!! But not so good for my head and body the next day... or the next!!

I laid on my couch at 11 a.m. yesterday morning and didn't move, besides to eat supper, until I moved to the bed at about 10:15. I officially feel old. And I think I may have forgotten how to dance.... Not good... I must practice ha!

Here are a few pictures from the weekend!

Thankful Thursday!

I love Thankful Thursdays!!
It's my weekly reminder of how blessed I am :)

There's nothing else I need to say, I don't believe.

Be Blessed,

From the Last Year...

Ok, so this is just a little bloggy game about 7 of your posts from the last year!! This was passed along to me by Amy at Crazy, Random Happenstances and I couldn't wait to play!! Thanks girl!!

What's the dealy-yo? There are 7 categories, you pick a blog entry of yours from the past year that best fits that category!! I'm pretty pumped bc a year ago, nobody read my blog, so it's a chance for people to read some of the stuff I wrote a long time ago!!! HA

1) MOST BEAUTIFUL
I would have to say my "most beautiful" post is one I did about my mother on mother's day. In Greenwood, there is a "contest" in the newspaper each year for "Mother of the Year" and this was my submission for her nomination.

2) MOST POPULAR
My most popular post (judging by number of comments... a whopping 9) was an "O How Pinteresting" post I did when I found out two of my very best friends had just gotten engaged. It's wedding pictures from Pinterest. Of course it's the most popular. What girl doesn't love a wedding??

Congrats Katie and Chris!! WINNING

3) MOST CONTROVERSIAL
Unless you understand the rivalry between Mississippi State and Ole Miss, you don't find this controversial at all. Even then, it's really not controversial, but it's the most controversial post I've done, to date. I've never really blogged about a testy subject. Mississippi State started this "funny slogan" after we beat Ole Miss is the Egg Bowl 2 years in a row. The Egg Bowl is our in-state rivalry game between these two teams (who hate each other) that's always on Thanksgiving. Ole Miss usually has a better team than us, so it is just our funny little way of saying that for "now" this is "Our" State!! We won... we should be able to brag a little, right?

4) MOST HELPFUL
I have never done a tutorial of any kind, besides passing out very simple recipes, that ANYONE can cook. So I am going to say this is my most "helpful" post because it is where you learn about me. It is about "Where I came from", so it helps you to learn a little background about me and the things I blog about.

5) POST WHOSE SUCCESS SURPRISED YOU
Ummmm.... they all surprise me... still to this day. Because for about a year, I would post and nobody read it except for my mother, sister, grandmother, aunt and a few friends and people from back home, when they happened to see it posted on facebook. But, one day in July (literally over night), people started reading more! It was crazy! I still don't understand how some bloggers have 1,000 followers after blogging for 6 months ha! Don't know how yall do it! More power to ya :)

6) POST I FEEL DIDN'T GET THE ATTENTION IT DESERVES
I've always liked to write, even back in highschool, and this just may be my favorite thing I've ever written. It is about the amount of stress a girl goes through in one football game!! It's worth the read... TRUST.

7) POST YOU ARE MOST PROUD OF
If this is referring to the posts that I'm most proud of writing, it would be #6 and #4 on this list, but as far as the post I wrote regarding something I am proud of myself for, it is this one. It is about me finishing my very first (and probably only) half marathon. Actually that is what a lot of my blog was about from June 2010 to December 2010. For me this was a MAJOR accomplishment, being that the last time I had run anywhere was during 7th grade track... which I quit after one week. So this was HUGE!! And this is the post I did right before the race!

Now to pass this little game on to 5 more bloggers!!!

1.) Jamie at her blog Jamie Harris
2.) Meg at her blog Henning Love
3.) Camylla at her blog Simply Camylla
4.) Rachel at her blog Simple Little Joys
5.) Memrie at her blog Live Laugh Love

And, of course, anyone can feel free to play along!!
