Friday Fashion

A few of my favorite things for fall are leopard, skinny jeans, super flares, blouses, pops of color, blazers, and boots!! And I have got them all here for your viewing pleasure. When I make these collages on polyvore I try to only use brands and items I would/could actually purchase here in Jackson or that I already own (or something very similar to what I already have). Sometimes, though, you have to throw in that one thing that you dream of having, such as the Frye boots and a Tory Burch purse.

So here are a few of my favorite things for fall that can transition from day time to party night time!!!

Baby Pink

Old Navy Flares!

These Old Navy super flare jeans are the bomb!! I have never been able to wear any kind of pants from Old Navy and I admit, usually I'm a fan of good quality denim, so I normally don't even pay attention to jeans when I'm there. But.... these caught my eye and they fit me like a glove. They are super flare and almost black so they are different than anything other jeans in my closet. Love them!

Leopard Blouse

Once again, this Old navy blouse (same as the baby pink one above) is quickly becoming my favorite shirt in my closet!! I love it and may just have to get it in every color! I can already tell this whole blouse thing is gong to be my go to for fall/winter.

TA TA LOVELIES!!
HAVE A FANTASTIC WEEKEND,

Thankful Thursday!

My friend Sara, from my hometown, tweeted this picture yesterday of the cotton in full bloom back at home!! I can't explain how big this made me smile and it prompted this post.

Not only am I thankful for cotton because it's just pretty and makes my day, but it's what provided a means for my family and put food on our table!! My daddy is an entomologist, meaning he checks the bugs on cotton, corn and soybeans, but mostly cotton. So if it wasn't for this one little plant, my life would have been completely different!! It's the little things, isn't it??

And if I'm thankful for cotton then I have to be thankful for teachers. Not only bc that's my mother's job, which also provided for our family, but because we need to be thankful for them anyways. Having a mother, sister and countless best friends who are teachers really makes me appreciate all they go through on a daily basis. Although, next summer when they are all laying out getting a tan and I'm stuck in my cube, I will hate them.. (not really) but for today, I am so thankful. They are some of the most unappreciated people on earth!! (Shoutout to all my bloggy teachers out there. I know there are a bunch of you!)

Let me just show you all my teachers I'm surrounded by:

Momma and Ann-Hamilton (sister)

Katie

Krista
P.S. this is her first year and she got teacher of the Month yesterday!!

Mary Kathryn (Special Ed)

Jana

Jamie

Liz
She is back in school, working towards being a teacher!!!
She will be awesome!

I'm telling yall... I'm surrounded... They are everywhere!! And I can think of more, that's just my closest ones :) Thanks for all yall do!!

I'm thankful for:
My Husband
My Family
My Friends
Mine and Kendol's jobs
(bc w/out them we would have nothing)
Our Home
Our vehicles
The food in our cabinets
Our clothes
Our bed
Our shoes
Our t.v.
(I seriously don't think we could live without one. I mean we have to be able to watch football, right?)

Don't forget to thank Him for the little things, which really are the major things, that we just expect to have out of life. There are some out there who don't have one, or some, of these things and we just don't realize how lucky we really are!!

What are you thankful for today??

Speaking of those friends I'm thankful for... I'm missing Meagan Rae alot today :(
But I get to see her next weekend, I hope!!!!

It's Fall Yall

Yesterday, Fall became official for me. My pumpkin candles burned all day. I took a trip to the farmers market for pumpkins. I had my first hand full, of many, of candy corn. (Thank you Miss Kaitlyn) I got a new cookbook to display on my cookbook stand. It was an option between turkey and pie... Kendol said turkey reminded him more of fall than pie... I'm thinking they should have been on the same page bc I can't say that one's a better fit than the other. The pumpkin is now on the door. It's officially fall yall!!!!

Please ignore this Christmas mat, that has now been at our front door for almost two years.
I think it's time for a new one... What do yall think haha?

There are still a few things that I plan to do to decorate for fall, but yesterday was a good start!! I definitely will be attempting to somewhat recreate the pictures below. I definitely have this rectangle pewter tray and I searched high and low for a square glass bowl/thing that we got for a wedding present (that I never knew what to do with) and I FINALLY found where I had stored it!! It will work perfectly!! And I plan to replant the pot (if you can even see it for the over- grown sweet potato vine) above with the feather/leaf plants... not sure what they are called!! I saw them yesterday at the farmer's market and fell in love, but I just couldn't bring myself to pay 12.50 each for them, knowing I had to have more than one! I guess I could always just plant a mum... but they never work out for me... I by no means have a green thumb. They always die within a week ha!

O, and last but not least... the leaves on the trees outside my office building are starting to change. They are B-E-A-UTIFUL when they turn red and orange. Please see them from last year HERE! O my gosh....

and just because I want to:

HAPPY FALL YALL!!!!

In the Kitchen

What's the first thing that comes to mind when you think of the word:
DIP

For me it is this:

Is this what comes to anyone else's minds?? 7th grade dances much, along with the Macarena!!

Any other 1997 UCA cheer campers out there???? I still remember most of the dance...

Anywho now that I've got ya up and dancing...

 Moving on!

That is not the "Dip" I was referring to. When I was home last weekend, my Momma made some good ole fried chicken and two new dipping sauces. I don't know if anyone out there is like me, but if I eat any type of meat, there must MUST must be a sauce of some kind.  I take that back...not just meat... I dip EVERYTHING!!!! So when I discover new "dipping sauces" I get really excited.

Here are the two new sauces. They can go with most any meats. Chicken, Pork Tenderloin, Pulled pork, etc... I mean we were dipping chips in them, they were so good!! And apparently you can dip Blooming Onions too, bc one is called "Blooming Onion Sauce."

Both so freakin' easy, use stuff you "probably" already have in the kitchen and take about 2 minutes! Just mix all the ingredients together and enjoy!

Blooming Onion Sauce
1/2 Mayonaisse
1 Tbsp Ketchup
2 Tbsp Horseradish
1/3 tsp Paprika
1/4 tsp Salt
1/8 tsp Oregano
1/8 tsp Pepper
1/3 tsp Cayenne Peppr

TRUST.... you'll be lickin' the bowl
and no it's not too much horseradish!

Jalapeno Mustard Dipping Sauce
3/4 Cup Mayonnaise
2 Tbsp Jalapeno Pepper Jelly
1/4 Cup Creole Mustard

This one tastes alot like a honey mustard! So there you go, you're very own home-made honey mustard!!

HAPPY MIXING & DIPPING!!
