Fab Friday

Today is going to be a fabulous day!!
You know why?

1. Well for starters, just because I said so...

2. The first song to come on in my car this morning was "Dixie Land Delight." Complete with singing at the top of my lungs, full dance moves and lots of violin/fiddle playing, of course.

This could have been the cause of the next events of my morning. So when leaving our neighborhood, you pull on to the busiest 2 lane road in the area. It is a road that EVERYONE uses every morning. Plus I have to turn left out of there, so there is always a line of cars to get out. Well There were two cars parked and some men standing around and one car in the left turn lane to go out of the neighborhood. While, I wondered what the other two trucks were doing and why the men were standing in the rain, I didn't think to much about it. We always have lawn service men and there's still construction going on.. and AT&T is putting in U-verse. So I just passed them by and got behind the one car in the left lane. Well since I was singing at the top of my lungs, I was not paying attention to the car's flashing lights. Man knocks on my window, "Umm Mam, there has been a hit and run, so nobody's in the car in front of you. If you want to get out of here anytime soon, you might want to get in the middle lane (with a chuckle)."  Yes, I was sitting behind a parked car with no driver. Silly me. At least my day got kicked off with a good laugh... at myself!

3. The first song to come on Pandora at work was Tiny Dancer!! Complete with visions of myself at Silky's on Beale Street. It must be my lucky day.

4. It's Friday... Enough said.

5. I am going home this weekend to see my family and lots of my best-est friends! Yay!
Just the start of what all I have to pack for the wedding shower this weekend.
And are yall noticing this picture? Yes, that would be an Instagram.
Welcome to 2012 Callie.
Yes, I FINALLY got an Iphone.
Add me: callie_collins

6. Skyler & Phillip are still on American Idol, but Phil's bestie, Hee Jun, got kicked off...
So sad. He cried. Sweetest thing ever.

7. It's my favorite little bloggers birthday! She is actually the reason I started blogging. If you ever read my very first post, you will know that I am being for real. If you do not follow her, I suggest you do immediately!
HAPPIEST OF BIRTHDAYS TO YOU, Rachel!

Anywho, a few more things that have made my week!
My sweet Hayes eating her oranges!

Every single picture we take is blurry.. Ugh

Showing her Teeth
Ok, so I know I spoke on this a week or two ago, but I shall tell you another story. Last night, I went down to Ann-Hamilton's (sister) to take her some shoes. Hayes was still awake, and she loves me yall! She actually knows who I am and squeals when I walk in the door. She runs strait to me and latches on. It is the sweetest thing I've ever seen. Well I tried to leave last night and she cried and ran to me and made me hold her. Well finally she went into her room, so I escaped while I could. Then I get this text message "It just dawned on her that you weren't here. She ran into the kitchen looking for you, crying. No lie!" Bless her precious little heart.

How Pa-resh is my little nephew Lawson?
That hat is just too much!!! A-dor-a-ble

There he is again!
Precious little Law-Man

And last, but most certainly not least... I believe Mallory and I have met our new best friend. Why does everyone not understand this concept like Zooey and us? No, but seriously, when we were in college, Mallory and I didn't speak to each other or anyone else until after lunch. We have been next door neighbors since age 3, lived together for 3 of 4 years of college and 1 year post college and now we literally live 1 minute from each other. This works for us!! Maybe everyone should try it??

HAPPY FRIDAY EVERYONE!!
AND DON'T FORGET TO GO VISIT RACHEL AND GIVE HER SOME BIRTHDAY LOVE!!

(and yes, I am fully aware that this is 10 kinds of random)

Thoughts to Ponder

Comfortable. Who doesn't love comfortable? I most certainly do. But every once in a while, we all need to take a risk. Do something we wouldn't normally do. .. Go out on a limb, even if it's just a little! Crawl...Tip Toe... Run...Jump in with both feet! However you want to do it, just do it!  If we don't take a chance once in a while, we may never know what all this fabulous life has to offer.

Top Two Tuesday

Over the last week or so, I have run across a few things that I have become slightly obsessed with. Just thought I would share.

{OPI Flashbulb Fuschia}
I went with Momma & Eleanor to get some make-up at Ulta on Friday and came away with this fabulosity. It is the perfect little pop of color for spring and summer.  And it has a hint of glitter, which I love! (It's a little more purple than this picture makes it look)

{ShockTop Raspberry Wheat}
My friend Mallory introduced this to me last weekend at the beach. In my o so important opinion, it is much better than Abita Strawberry.... GASP... I'm disowned... I don't normally stray into fancy beers, but this is really really good and refreshing! You should definitely try it.

The Weekend in Pictures

While very relaxing, this weekend turned out pretty busy, but O so fun!

Momma and Eleanor were in town on Friday night, so we all loaded up and went out for Hibachi and then did a little shopping. Eleanor found her prom dress and some sassy shoes!! Mission accomplished!

On Saturday night we hit up our favorite dinner spot, Tico's, for  filets and good wine with good friends.

Sunday, we had a crawfish boil at Kendol's parents. Mrs. Lucy's best friends from highschool were in town, some of which had never had crawfish besides in a dish, much less seen the process. Super fun.

Just some cutie little flowers that I found.

And last, but most certainly not least, we ended the weekend watching the new Footloose. Seriously, I didn't want it to end. Maybe it's because the original is one of my favorite movies of all time, I'm not sure, but I loved every single second of it. Can I please put on cutoffs and some hot little boots and go dancing like that?? Pa Pa Pa-lease!!! Call me a nerd if you want, but I can't wait to watch it again!

Bring on the Sunshine, Bring on the Good Times

I don't know about where yall are, but it's 10 kinds of GAAWWWG-US here in Jackson. Actually, I don't think it could be any more perfect.

Not a cloud in the sky.
76 Degrees.

Not quite the fruity drink I would like to be having, but she'll do for now I suppose...

I need a "real" fruity drink, a floppy hat and lawn chair IMMEDIATELY!
Maybe a steak cooking on the grill.
A little cornhole.

3 more hours folks!!
We can do this.
In the words of Josh Turner:
BRING ON THE SUNSHINE, BRING ON THE GOOD TIMES!
(I can't let the tan I got last week fade...)

Epic Fail

Let's have a little laugh at my expense why don't we?
We've all got to get through this Thursday somehow, right?

It's Monday. I am exhausted. I just got home from a 4 day bachelorette party in Panama City Beach, FL. One of the most insane places to go for Spring Break, especially at 26. So the weekend kicked my butt. I had not unpacked my clothes and my hanging clothes that I had taken were front and center in the closet. I grab my cream and grey striped Maxi dress, throw it on and move on with life. I had no intentions of trying to look great. I was in no mood for work... In no mood to be up at all, for that matter.

Maxi dress?? YESS!! I will feel like I'm in my pj's all day.
Throw on hot pink cardigan.
Go to work.

After being at work for 4 hours, I stand up to go to lunch and it hits me.
Under a cream colored cotton dress.

Yep, you guessed it!
Neon Orange
MOR-TI-FIED
My face turns 10 shades of red.

"Have I walked around at all today?"
"How many people noticed this on the way in to work?"
"I bet people have been pointing and laughing at me!!"

And let's not forget that I work in a very old school, conservative, very business office... As in, I am just about the only one that doesn't wear a suit on the reg..
Then I remember I have on my Columbia fleece. (I keep a fleece jacket at my desk bc I'm always cold.) Thank goodness I had had it on all morning!! I ran to bathroom and sure enough, you can see strait though my dress, but with the jacket I was covered for the most part. WHEW!!

Needless to say, for the rest of the day I walked around a bit slumped over (more slumped over than normal, if that's even possible), which then caused my dress to be too long... which caused me to step on it... which caused me to have to hold it up all day....
 DI-SAS-TER!!

Moving right along..

Work ends...
FINALLY!

Go strait home and change??? Errrrr Wrong

So I head home as usual and stop by the grocery store. Let's face it, if I had gone home first we would have gone hungry bc I sure wasn't getting back out. I had a list of exactly what I needed and what order to get it in that would get me in-n-out of there the fastest. I get out of my car to hurricane like winds that blow my dress flat against my body... Just fantastic. So I literally run in. No, it's not raining... Yes, I'm running. I'm sure I got a few (more) looks.

I walk in to find that they are REMODELING the entire grocery store.
And I think to myself:
Is this real life?
Am I being punked?
For the last 5 years it has been the exact same.
I knew exactly where everything was...
Not any more.
This is my living hell.
I hate a grocery store...
(Especially when I don't know where things are and especially in my current situation)
Where are the jumbo pasta shells?
Where the hell are the jumbo pasta shells?
Why are the jumbo pasta shells not with all of the pasta?
Why does this recipe even call for Jumbo pasta shells?
You've got to be kidding me, I forgot the green onions!!!!
I give up...

I felt like people were snapping pictures for People of Wal-Mart!

And this is not my only disaster of the week...
Did I mention that our car (not mine) got towed from our Condo in Panama City.
Literally walked out to the car and it was gone...
Just like Dude Where's My Car.
That is exactly what was said, actually.

Here's to hoping that your week has gone a little better than mine!!

O, How Pinteresting

The entire time I have been putting this post together I have been trying to come up with some kind of witty, creative theme to tie it all together. Well my friends, apparently my creativeness decided to stay in the bed. The only thing that any of these have in common is that I love each and every one of them and they make me smile... And today, that's good enough for me!

If this doesn't scream Callie, I don't know what does!!! Obsessed with everything about it.
