Serioulsy, I have been making fun of Kendol and giving him hell for the last few months over how excited he was that Dallas was coming back. He would seriously get giddy when previews came on.

See, he has an obsession with old movies... especially westerns. Most of which do not interest me AT ALL, so I just knew this was another one of his obsessions that would be Mizz.. (they aren't really as bad as I make them out to be....but that's another secret... shhhh)

WRONG.

Insert Foot In Mouth.

Drama. Scandal. Cowboy Hats. Honkey Tonks.

What's not to love?

Seriously.. anything involving hotties in cowboy hats is A-OK with me!!
My weakness.

Only problem with the show... they all drive sports cars.

But not for long..


 That does not mean I will watch all 49 seasons of the original.

I have a deal going with Kendol. 

He watches one of my old favorites for every original season of Dallas, I watch.

And I'm starting with "The Wizard of Oz."

The one movie Kendol hates the most... he'll never watch it.
Callie wins!!

Then I'm moving on to "Little Orphan Annie."

Can you believe Kendol's never seen it? 
WHAT!!!

No, but seriously... now Kendol gets to hear, more than ever before, about how I want to pack up and move to Texas. Wear my cowboy boots everyday and go honkey tonkin'. He is going to regret me watching this in no time!

Veggie Overload

This past week, we have had an over abundance of squash, zucchini and cucumbers sent to us by my parents... strait from the garden!! There's no way I was letting them go to waste, but when I say there was a lot, I mean a lot. In the last week, we have had squash and zucchini 5 times, have made 12 jars of pickles with the cucumbers and have the rest soaking in venegar.

How in the world do you cook squash and zucchini 5 ways, you ask? Grilled, Easy Cheesy Zucchini Bake (Kendol loved!), Zucchini Casserole (I loved!!), Shish-ka bobs and last but not least a spaghetti sauce concoction. While you can never go wrong with grilled veggies, out of the other three attempts the spaghetti sauce concoction was the best. I guess it could be considered a Veggie Parmesan... Yea, we'll go with that.

Veggie Parmesan

1 Jar of Spaghetti Sauce 

(Prego Traditional is the bomb... just sayin..)

1 Large Zucchini

1 Large Squash

Parmesan Cheese

Mozz Cheese

Salt

Pepper

Slice your veggies. Pour a little sauce in the bottom of your baking dish to keep anything from sticking. Throw in your veggies. Salt & Pepper. Cover with a little bit of both cheeses. Cover with the rest of the spaghetti sauce. Sprinkle a little more cheese on top. Bake for 45 minutes on 350. Serve with garlic bread (duh!).

This particular amount made about 3 big servings at our house. Feel free to add in as much squash and zucchini as you want! (Remember it shrinks) I may even throw in some hamburger meat next time!! Can't go wrong.

I may be biased bc I love anything with a tomato sauce and cheese, but this was delish!! We ate the entire dish in about 5 minutes........ and very low cal. 

Now I just have to wait... for the tomatoes  and sweet G90 corn to be ready.

I can already taste the bacon and tomato sandwich now.

Over the Weekend

Could it be that this past weekend actually felt like a weekend? Like it really did last a little while and it wasn't over in 2.5 seconds.

On Friday, Kendol and I headed home to my parents house for the night. We celebrated Father's Day a weekend early with the best Daddy in the whole world over Shish-Ka-Bobs, baked potatoes and a Duck Dynasty marathon... (We aren't from Mississippi or anything....)

I can't wait to get mine framed too for my new office.

On Saturday, we headed back to Jackson for a lazy day full of laundry, cleaning and a cry fest with Armageddon... O my.. I had not seen it in so long that I had forgotten how sad it was. Goodness gracious. Kendol, Mallory and I ended the day with one last Hoo-Rah at Mudbugs for the year! I can't believe crawfish season is already over. Sad Face.

On Sunday, we had a little Mexicana lunch birthday bash for my little Sparky!! Then I proceeded to have another cry fest when Kendol suggested we watch Courageous.... If you haven't seen it, watch immediately! I cried the entire time. So good.

And last but most certainly not least, we ended the weekend with a little cookout with some friends we haven't seen in a few weeks... funny because they live 4 houses down. That's how busy everyone is. Craziness!!
