Over the Weekend.. On Wednesday

So, I am just now getting around to the weekend recap and it's almost the weekend again...
Don't be judgin'

On Friday, Mallory and I packed it up and headed north for Memphis for our annual college girls trip for the Lisa Lassandrello 5K. We scooped up Katie in Grenada and were on our way. When we got there we headed out for a little pizza and trivia night in Harbor Town then headed in early since we were supposed to be running in the a.m. Little did we know, things were about to take a turn for the worse. The neighbor below the apartment we were staying in mistook our blowing up of the ole' air mattress for a crazy wild party... Let's just say he had to work the next morning and was not at all happy with us for our 1 minute of noise... Seriously... he made a huge deal. So our 11:30 night turned into a 1:30 night.. Like Whoa..

Needless to say 7 a.m. came early... especially when the only thing you had to look forward to was running 3.1 miles in 30 degree weather on just a few hours sleep. But we all survived. Liz won for our age group as always, with a time somewhere around 21 minutes.. And I finished around 29 minutes which is awesome for me! It was my first time to finish in under 30 at an actual race.

Liz, Leslie, Me, Mal & Katie (no eyes)
Looking mighty chipper, might I add...

The rest of the day was spent over brunch and bargain shopping, followed by a quick power nap before we headed to dinner. We had brunch at "Local" and I had crab stuffed avocado, mac n' cheese and a bloody mary.. Hello Heaven!!

For dinner, we went to S.O.B. (South of Beale) and it was surely delish! I had Duck Fried Rice and you guessed it... Mac n' Cheese! Kendol does not like MnC so I never have it home. Crazy right? So when it's available at a restaurant it is at the top of my list.. always. Dinner was followed by a night out on the town and ended with a dance party... DUH.. Seriously, how sad is it that I only took two pictures of the whole weekend. What in the world is wrong with me?

Mal and I

Another classic weekend with the ladies in the books.
I'm already looking forward to next year shenans.
Until then..
Let the wedding festivities begin for Leslie and Dan!

Over the Weekend

Ever have one of those weekends that's just perfect in every way?? That's what this past weekend was for me. It was just good for the soul.

On Friday, I started off my weekend right with a little 3 mile run (in 28 minutes... GO ME!), then Kendol and I headed over to my Uncle Earl's to celebrate his retirement. My cousin Kaylis and her two main men were in town from Little Rock and it was just the perfect night spent with family over pizza, cake and a few cold ones.

Only cake appropriate for this die hard State fan!
Notice the Ole Miss candles that were snuck on top :)

Kendol and Sweet Lawson up to no good.
All of the little ones blowing out the candles.
Hayes an Uncle Early getting in a big hug!
On Saturday, we were up and at em' early to get ready for a fun little morning at the skating rink for Kaitlyn's 8th Birthday! Needless to say, we were all taken back quite a few years. I'm not sure if it was the skating rink or the fact that Kaitlyn's 8... It's still a toss up.

Stephanie dominating the rink!
Happiest of Birthdays to this Precious One!
CANNOT believe she is 8.
Ho-ly Cow.

Saturday was the best one I've had in a while. It was spent at local Pub called Bonny Blair's. The food was delish, as always. The one man band was the bomb.com. And the company was the best! Lots of laughs were had by all.
Handsome Hubs in his snazzy Christmas shirt!

And Sunday just put the icing on the cake with some hang time with this little one...

...and some great football! I'm happy to report that the two teams I was hoping for in the Superbowl are, in fact, playing in the Superbowl. Which means two of my favorite former Bulldogs will be going head to head!! My favorite being Anthony "Boobie" Dixon of the 49'ers... My custom "Boobie Dixon" tee is on the way!! And then there's Pernell McPhee with the Raven's who was showing out against Tom Brady with not one, but two, batted passes. You go boy!!

Ok... that's enough for now.
Over and Out.

Sovereign Lord, you made the earth and the sky by Your great power and might;
NOTHING is too difficult for You.
Jeremiah 32:17

What a great reminder for us all.
Nothing is too big for our God.
He is the creator of everything after all. T
There is NOTHING too difficult for Him to handle.
All we have to do is ask.
What a relief.

This One Time... In Mississippi

This one time.. In Mississippi..
Pardon me while I get a bit excited.
Snow only comes around once every 4 or 5 years or so around here.

He fills my life with good things.
Psalm 103:5

Our cute little house with out little bit of snow.

Pretty trees at work!

Hayes' first snow!
They played all of their snow away by 8 o'clock.

Hayes' first snowman.
Of course she dressed it as Minnie Mouse!!

Parents front yard!

Y'all... I think all of this rain is starting to get to my head. For reals.... I mean if there's going to be this much water in one place at one time, I better be sitting on the beach somewhere with a drink in my hand... Now back to the rain getting to my head. I am usually a color person. Like color everywhere. I hardly ever fall for the creams and khakis. But O, My-Lanta have I been pinning some neutral beauties lately and I figured I should share them with y'all!! Tell me you don't drool??

That bed... I die.

How perfect is the Stella and Dot Ginger Bib Necklace with this dress?

Swoon, I tell ya!!
Too bad I could never have any of the above... I'd have every room destroyed, mustard on those white slacks and a snag in that lace before I even walked out the door.

All is Right in the World

After a very tough week last week, it seems that things are finally getting back to normal around here. First and foremost, Justin Timberlake is back on my radio.. Halle-freakin-lujah!!! Can I get a Amen??? Mississippi's weather is acting crazy again. Flip Flops on Sunday.. Ice Storms on Monday. Typical. Raylan Givens is back on my t.v. God bless that man in his cowboy hat. American Idol's only one day away.. And Monday night was spent celebrating another year in the life of a very wonderful friend over Wine, Crawfish Pasta and Tiramisu! Speaking of crawfish, it's almost that time of year y'all. One more week. Can I get another Hallelujah?? It really is sad how excited I am...

Told ya.
All is right in the world.

Handsome Hubs at Amerigo!!

He fills my life with good things.

Monday Mantra

That time change gets me every single time. Getting off work when it's dark outside makes me lazy. When it's dark, I am not supposed to be out running hoping I don't get run over, I'm supposed to be curled up on my couch watching tv in my sweatpants. And how convenient for this change to take place right around the time of year when we eat the most, at Thanksgiving and Christmas? There's no worse time to get lazy, but it happens every time. And now there's King Cake... O King Cake.. It's really hard to just pass that by.

Sunday Workout.. Check!

But I'm Back!!!

New running shoes. Some new workout clothes (thanks Old Navy 40% off sale). 5K in two weeks. And two more in March. Swim suit season's just around the corner. It's time to get with the fitness program and I'm trying to do just that. The work outs are getting to be part of my regular routine again and the healthier eating is back in full swing here at the Collins Casa.

How are your New Year's Resolutions going?

What are you working towards/doing differently this year?

S.P.D. Back in Black

I have been wanting to participate more and more with this link up bc I am a pinterest fanatic.. but I never seem to do anything with my pins except in the fashion department. I do try a lot of the outfits.. but that's where the problem comes in. I am no fashion blogger. But I do love fashion and I do love fashion bloggers. So here's my pitiful attempt at trying to steal their thunder..

Monday Mantra(s)

This is what I'm working on currently in my life.
Be the BEST that I can be...
In marriage..
In relationships..
At work.
All the time.

All New Everything

Remember Me? It's been ten kinds of crazy around here in CallieVille. Yesterday marked the first day at my new job. After an eleven day break from work (and life), needless to say my schedule was out of whack, but somehow I managed to have a little extra pep in my step. Excited much? I believe so. I was up and at em' doing laundry and devotions and dishes and working out... before work..Yes, before work... That's never happened.. EVER.. And can I just say this whole getting off work at four business is awesome sauce. Like I said.. NEW EVERYTHING. Completely different job with completely different hours (no more of that 8 to 5!!) makes for a whole new life. And I couldn't be more excited about it.

It's time to kick 2013's Boo-tay!
